pick yourself up, dust yourself off, start all over again!

it can be so frustrating to have to rip out a project all together and start fresh.
this happened with my pokemon scarf, which i had to entirely re-start last night.

the up side is that my re-do has much better tension and color-carrying (not sure what to call this) and the project has benefited from my earlier mistake!

PS- my 3 year old girl likes to pretend she's a cat and play with my skeins of yarn while working- SO helpful!

pokemon scarf

i've started knitting a pokemon scarf for my nephew.
well, it just has a pinkachu tail on the ends-- ambiguous enough that if he decides pokemon is a bunch of crap before the winter is out, the scarf could still be just a cool weapon.

if i pull this off correctly, it will be the first time i have knitted a pattern of my own creation from scratch (and a little help from an online chart). wish me luck. i've got 38 sts in 10 rows so far on #9 needles...

how young is too young?

my almost-4-year-old wants to knit.

i am afraid at her age (though her fine motor skills are great) this would only be an exercise in frustration for her.

i'd be interested to know what age is "old enough" to learn knitting? it is sweet that my girl just wants to "help mommy with her art-ject"!

cast on 365 stitches...

ever wonder how a stay-at-home mother of two can find the time to knit?
and blog?

why not?

and so it begins. an online archive of my own personal trials, tribulations, "art-jects", slipped stitches, dirty diapers, and preschooler mayhem. stay tuned.
